Become a Millionaire!

All HISD students and employees of HISD are being challenged to read at least five books during the summer. Find time to go to the library or bookstore. Express interest in reading; have books around your house. Follow our library blog or follow us on Twitter for book recommendations.

Our school library will be open during the summer for students and staff to check out books. Check out the library schedule to see which days the library will be open. When school starts in August, find a special treat if you have completed the 5 book challenge.

Return Library Books

All students and staff must turn in books now. There are no fines right now. After May 19, paperback books are $10 and hardback books are $20. Graphic novels are considered hardback.

Some days, the library will be closed for testing. Please come during any of the three lunch periods or after school to return books if the library is closed for testing. Check the library's schedule to see other times to come to return books. After May 19, the librarian will be involved with inventory in another part of the building. Please read the signs posted on the bulletin board outside the library, in the library windows, and on the library doors.

Students who do not return books, pay fines, or perform community service in the library will not be eligible to sit for exams. If you are not sure if you still have items, check with your English teacher or the librarian. English teachers have been receiving overdue slips for students every other month since October. Please take care of your responsibilities.
