Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Mighty Lions!

• Whereas, the ability to read and process information is a basic survival skill; and

• Whereas, too few teens think reading is a valuable tool for enjoyment as well as for schoolwork; and

• Whereas, regular daily reading for the fun of it creates the reading habit for life and improvement in reading skills;

• Therefore, be it resolved that on this 24th day of October, 2011,
I, Principal McNeal-Sheppard proclaim October 17 to November 18, Teen Read Month at Jack Yates High School and encourage teens to read for the fun of it.
